This detachment from the physical act of painting raises uncomfortable questions of authorship, value and authenticity relevant to our digital age.
This tension is heightened by Bongiovanni's continued use of symbols and archetypes culled from the universal language of painting causing his audience to question the nature of the image they are viewing.
Maurizio has exhibited extensively throughout Europe, he was awarded a fellowship to the Internationale Sommerakademie fur Blidende Kunst in Salzburg, Austria in 2014 and was recently profiled in L' UOMO VOGUE.
We will be exhibiting his work in the Avenue Room until the 8th September.
