In late November 2016 Ed begun his ascent into the mystical world of the modern day music industry. With a Paulo Nutini/Rod Stewart rasp, intertwined with a whole lotta of energy, Ed caught the attention of hit record producer and songwriter Jamie Petrie. After being invited to perform at one of JP’s legendary parties the two took a slightly inebriated stroll. Over a whiskey and a cigarette they begun plans to develop Ed’s sound and begin the writing of what is to become Ed’s First studio album.
2017 progressed with a continuous medley of studio work, live shows and the shooting of music videos and 2018 has seen Ed announced online and live as a powerful artist.
When Ed is asked where did his get the voice, his humble response, was merely this.....Whiskey and Cigarettes.
Axel Jansson is a London-based/Swedish-born singer and songwriter. He was first drawn to music when he started to explore his father’s record collection as a kid, absorbing and soaking up the sounds of the 60’s and 70’s that would influence the gritty, husky, heartfelt tone that you’ll find in his own work. Axel’s song writing is honest, infusing lush melodies with alternative rock and a big dose of bold pop.
His debut single ‘Shine’ was premiered by The Sun in April 2016 with a live appearance at London’s Century Club, leading to features in The Metro, OK! Magazine, The Mirror and The Huffington Post and interviews on London Live TV and ITV’s pop show ‘Scrambled’. Axel has performed at MIDEM, on the Coffee House Sessions tour, Busk The Box, I Luv Live and the LBC Summer Festival June 2016. Two regional tours and several single releases later, and Axel continues to push forward with is distinctive band of indie pop rock to an ever increasing live audience in the Capital.
“It’s exactly the sort of well-crafted acoustic-driven pop that deserves to find a large and welcoming audience here in the UK and beyond.” – Record Of The Day
